Apex Award: Best Win/Loss Record

Winners: Ahaan Pamnani (1870), Ansh Bhatnagar (1457), and Oreoluwa Banwo (1383) — 3–0 (100%)

This week’s Apex Award was shared by three players who delivered flawless performances throughout the evening. Ahaan Pamnani, Ansh Bhatnagar, and Oreoluwa Banwo each completed the night undefeated, finishing with perfect 3–0 records and

100% win rates.

Going undefeated in league play requires consistency across every match, with little room for mistakes. All three players maintained their performance from one matchup to the next, converting their opportunities and finishing the evening without a loss.

Wesley Dunaway (1062) and Justin Johnson (1305) also completed undefeated records, finishing 2–0. However, the three 3–0 performances led the field in completed wins and earned Pamnani, Bhatnagar, and Banwo this week’s Apex Award.

Rising Star Award: Biggest Rating Point Gain

Winners: Jason Franklin (1273), Patrick Gergaud (1181), and Ahaan Pamnani — +52 Rating Points Each

The Rising Star Award was another three-way tie this week, with Jason Franklin, Patrick Gergaud, and Ahaan Pamnani each recording a +52 rating point gain.

For all three players, the increase represents a meaningful step forward and reflects the value of strong results in a competitive league environment. Their performances translated directly into significant rating movement, making each player one of the evening’s most notable performers.

For Pamnani in particular, the +52 point gain was part of an exceptional all-around night. Alongside earning a share of the Apex Award with a perfect 3–0 record, he also produced the evening’s biggest upset. His ability to combine consistency with a major breakthrough victory made him one of the defining players of the August 26 league.

Franklin and Gergaud also deserve recognition for turning their performances into substantial rating gains. Their +52 increases tied them with Pamnani for the largest rating improvement of the night.

Lion Heart Award: Biggest Upset Win

Winner: Ahaan Pamnani vs. Ty Hoff (2074)Rating Gap: 204 Points

Ahaan Pamnani claimed the Lion Heart Award after defeating Ty Hoff, a player rated 2074, overcoming a significant 204-point rating gap.

Upsets against higher-rated opponents require players to stay composed and execute their game plan under pressure. Pamnani rose to the challenge, securing a victory against an opponent with a considerably higher rating and producing one of the

evening’s most impressive results.

What makes the victory even more notable is Pamnani’s complete performance across the night. He finished 3–0, earned a share of the Apex Award, gained 52 rating points, and then capped off the evening with the biggest upset. The combination of an undefeated record, substantial rating gain, and victory over a 2074-rated opponent made

Pamnani one of the clear standouts of Wednesday’s league.
