The Austin Table Tennis Club is excited to welcome Vaibhav, known as "Vib," to the front desk team! Vib is already familiar with the club as a player and volunteer. Now he is looking forward to taking on a new role and making new connections with more ATTC members.

“I’ve been around the club for a while so I’m excited to help out in a different role and get to know more of the community,” Vib shared.

From the Table to the Front Desk

Vib’s table tennis journey began in high school, and he has developed a particular fascination with body mechanics, a theme he continues to explore in his own game.

As Vib noted, “I’ve always been fascinated by footwork, spacing, and movement, areas I’m still working to improve.”

His interest highlights how much there is to learn about the sport beyond simply hitting the ball, from positioning and timing to finding more efficient ways to move around the table.

Beyond Table Tennis

Outside of table tennis, Vib has a background in cybersecurity. “I spend a lot of my time studying patterns in data and exploring how machine learning can help us understand unusual behavior,” the cybersecurity researcher explains.

A big Bruce Lee fan, Vib admires both his footwork and philosophy of movement. It's no surprise that Vib also studies Wu Wei, a core concept from ancient Chinese philosophy.

As Vib puts it, “I’m currently exploring the philosophy of Wu Wei: the idea of acting with less force and more alignment. It’s an interesting perspective that connects naturally to table tennis, where balance, timing, and relaxed, efficient movement can make all the difference."

Welcome to the Team!

ATTC is happy to have Vib join front desk team. Since he is already familiar with the club as a player and volunteer, we look forward to seeing him build on those connections and help keep the ATTC a welcoming place for our community.

Be sure to say hello to Vib the next time you see him at the club!
