Global Table Tennis: Coach Shooka Visits TG Sachsenhausen

ATTC's Coach Shooka Rajabi recently took a trip to Europe and in her travels got to do two of the things she loves best: coach and visit family (not necessarily in that order).
While in Germany, she coached in support the first men’s team of TG Sachsenhausen during their league match against Seligenstadt in Frankfurt, as part of the Hessian state league.
During her visit, Coach Shooka also met with Mr. Jürgen Diefenhardt, Director of TG Sachsenhausen in Frankfurt, Germany. "The meeting provided a great opportunity to exchange experiences and insights about table tennis in Germany and the United States," says Coach Shooka, "including differences in club structures, coaching, player development, and the overall table tennis culture."
Quality Time & ATTC Shirts
The visit was also an opportunity to enjoy some quality time with her son, Matin Farmani. Team Captain of TG Sachsenhausen’s 1st Men’s team, Matin serves as the leading single/doubles player on the team roster, carrying the highest Q-TTR (table tennis rating point value) in the squad (typically around the ~1800–1900 rating mark which is roughly equivalent to a 2200-2300 USATT rating).

After coaching the league match, Coach Shooka presented an ATTC club shirt to Mr. Diefenhardt as a gesture of friendship and connection between the two clubs.
"It was a special occasion for the team to have the support and expertise of a former Head Coach of the Iranian National Table Tennis Team and the current Coach at ATTC Austin," said Mr. Diefenhardt. "Her experience and guidance provided valuable support to the players throughout the match and made the occasion particularly memorable for the entire team."

We are immensely proud to have Coach Shooka leading the way here at ATTC, bringing world-class expertise and warmth to our community. This trip was just one chapter in an incredible career. Next week, we’re launching a special 3-part series taking an in-depth look at Coach Shooka’s journey—from leading the Iranian National Team to coaching here at ATTC. Keep an eye on our blog for part one!
