University of Texas Table Tennis Team Competes at NCTTA National Championships

The Texas Table Tennis team competed at Nationals in Rockford, Illinois from April 9th-12th. While our initial flight to Chicago was delayed for many hours, the team had a lot of fun on the trip, and played against some of the highest level players in the country, including Sid Naresh and Ved Sheth.
Team Results
Co-ed A-Team: 6th place out of 24 schools. The team defeated Purdue 3-1, defeated Columbia 3-1, lost to UC Berkeley 0-4, defeated NYU 3-1, and lost to Western 2-3.
Women’s Team: 6th place out of 16 schools. The team defeated Western 3-2, lost to Harvard 0-4, defeated Illinois 3-2, and lost to McMaster 1-3.

Individual Standouts
Michael beat everyone in the group stage of Men's Singles
Sambit won the consolation bracket of Men's Singles
Fan made it to the quarterfinals, placing top 8 of Women's Singles
