The ATTC Butterfly 7th Annual Kenneth Beauchamp High Dollar Cap was an absolute blockbuster event, drawing an unprecedented roster of high-level talent. Despite the fierce national competition, Austin Table Tennis Club players defended their home tables brilliantly, securing multiple hard-earned podium finishes across the weekend's events.


Here's the winners of our exclusive ATTC Tournament Awards for the most prestigious podium finish, the most massive USATT rating surge, and the most jaw-dropping upset win of the weekend!


Apex Award for Best Podium Finish

  • Winner: Sambit Kanjilal

  • Affiliation: UT Table Tennis Team

  • The Feat: Sambit claimed the highest-level championship for any ATTC-affiliated player by capturing 1st Place in the Under 2100 RR event. He was an unstoppable force all day, sweeping his group undefeated. Not stopping there, he stepped up to the elite Under 2450 RR division, battling his way to a 3rd Place podium finish. Taking home gold in one high-level event and bronze in an even higher division cements his status as our Apex champion!  


Rising Star Award for Largest USATT Ratings Increase

  • Winner: Ellie Kim

  • Affiliation: ATTC Tournament Warriors

  • The Feat: Entering the tournament with a rating of 1108, Ellie experienced a meteoric rise by proving to be a dominant force across three separate events. She fought her way to 2nd Place in the Under 1600 RR, captured 3rd Place in the Under 1300 RR, and secured 3rd Place in the Under 3200 Doubles RR. Earning three hard-fought medals against stiff competition easily cements her status as the weekend's ultimate rising star.  


Lion Heart Award for Biggest Upset Win

  • Winner: Oreoluwa Banwo

  • Affiliation: ATTC Tournament Warriors

  • The Feat: Oreoluwa pulled off the most statistically stunning victory of the tournament in the Under 1900 RR event. Entering his group stage match with a rating of 1313, he dug deep to defeat an opponent rated 1619 in a grueling 5-game war (3-2). Overcoming a staggering 306-point rating deficit is the definitive Lion Heart performance.
